October 29th

Date details +
Skillful communication and compassionate exchange are an expression of our intrinsic health.
This is an introductory class for people who would like to learn about and experience the fundamentals of Karuna Training and the foundations of Contemplative Psychology. Karuna Training is an in-depth training program in Contemplative Psychology, uncovering how to heal ourselves and work skillfully with others through the innate potency of the heart. The program joins a deep study of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhist principles with contemplative practice, skills development, and ongoing group interaction and community support. It is a journey of discovering one's own brilliant sanity and of learning how to exchange ourselves for others, transforming everyday life challenges into opportunities for openness and wisdom.
This stand-alone class has no prerequisites and is open to everyone, introducing the basics of Contemplative Psychology as it has evolved from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado. Students in Karuna Training's 2-year Basic Training are awarded a certificate for 309 hours of training and receive Continuing Education Credit, working through the experiential material together in a cohort. Karuna Training is being offered in Los Angeles 2019-2021. This is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes in and see if this training program is for you!
